My Glasses BROKE!

What is the first belonging of a person who suffers nearsighted? For me who cannot use contact lens, the answer is glasses.  Most of the people will always wear their glasses even when they walk. In my case, I am not that typical. I only wear my glasses whenever I have to read books, work with my laptop and cell phone, and to see the blackboard as well as the monitor in the class. I know that is a bad habit, but I just do not want to rely on my glasses, yet I do not really like to wear it. My mom always quarrelsome if I do not wear my glass regularly. Whenever she knows that I do not wear it, she would mumble for at least an hour.
Although I do not like to wear that, the fact is I have been wearing this glasses since I was in second grade of my senior high school. The terrible thing, besides the amount of my myopia that is increasing every year, is when my glasses broke. It is either the frame or the lens come out from the frame itself. I do not need to worry if it's broken and I am in my own country. But, how if it is broke in a place where I do not proficient to communicate in that language; Murcia?
The accident was last Thursday when I had my first writing practice exam. I was about to clean the lens with my cloth. I remembered that I cleaned them effortlessly, but suddenly, my eyes opened widely when I heard the clatter of the right lens hit the floor. I took it and about to put it back to the frame. I wanted to scream until I found that the frame broke so it would be useless if I put the lens back. I was so worried because if my glasses broke, it meant, I could not see clearly and could not even see the lecturer in front.
I had four choices at that time; repair it to the optic, change and buy new glasses, try to fix it by myself, and just let it be. The last option was totally awful since I will be in Murcia until February next year. I won't let my eyes in pain for around 2 months. The choice number one and two could be the best. I clearly know that I am not advance in Spanish, but I could ask my roommates to accompany me. The problem was it would be so expensive. I kept that choice and decided to try the third choice. I thought at that time, if I could not fix it by my self, meant I have to buy a new one.
I went back to the apartment after I had my dinner outside my friends. I borrowed a tape from my roommates, Elena. When she handed me the tape, she reminded me to be careful, because if the angle did not fit like it should be, I could get a headache. I remembered there were no five minutes until I could fix my glasses and put the lens back to its frame. I tried to wear it and I felt the angle was not different from the beginning before it was broken. The only funny thing was the look of my glasses was not as good as before. Here is the picture of my broken glasses:

Now that I can wear my glasses as usual, I will keep in mind to clean it very gently and not to careless anymore.
